Funatic Versace is back in action! Ninja took Best Of Breed in the hot and sunny Hämeenlinna. Char/Saimi daughter Senna continued her great performances by winning her class, placing 2nd in best bitch competition behind her auntie Ninja and taking CAC. Boyd/Geisha daughter Morrison had her first appearance in junior class and did very well by placing 3rd in the class. And Pulla, who is finally coming back in coat, placed 2nd in intermediate class. With these four girls Funatic breeder group was also BOB breeder :)

Unelma 10 years in Februaryin memoriam
Bernario Marcellina
12.2.1999 – 22.6.2009

On Monday 22nd June we had to say goodbye to our oldest Berner girl Unelma at the age of 10 years 4 months 10 days. (Necropsy report: dissaminated histiosytic sarcoma, torn cruciate, osteoarthritis)

After our first two Berner boys, Pekko and Sulo, came Unelma to our household in 1999. She was the first Berner girl of my family and the loyal companion of my parents for over ten years. With Unelma I competed in obedience and she also had much fun in agility but unfortunately she had to be retired from all that fun stuff way too early due to her spinal problems. She enjoyed the long walks in the forest with my mother and LOVED swimming. Her favorite treat must have been bananas. Never seen a dog drool so much over a banana :-)

Unelma was the mother of the first Funatic litter and with her I learned many of the do’s and don’ts in this breed and dogs in general.

6.6.2009 Tuuri

* Sunday, June 7th, 2009

I do not remember such a cold day in June! In addition to being cold the weather was a bit of everything: cloudy, windy, rain, hail and a tiny bit of sun. But I cannot complain… It was a good entry of 58 Berners at Tuuri. We had five dogs at the show and ended up with FIVE class winners, too!

Boyd/Usva son Diesel won junior dogs, was 3rd best dog and won his first CAC! Char/Saimi daughter Senna won junior bitches, was 3rd best bitch and won CAC! Nano/Raisa daughter Pulla won intermediate bitches. Saimi’s last show this summer and she won champion bitches, best bitch and BOS! She rules!!! And Geisha’s first appearance as a veteran gave her veteran class win, BOB veteran and 4th best bitch! Way to go Geisha!
Not a bad day :-)

Thank you Sarianna and Mika for helping me out with Senna and Geisha!
