The Slovakian Specialty for Swiss Mountain & Cattle Dogs was held the day after the WDS in hotel Kamila in Bratislava.
There was a nice entry of all four swiss breeds and 105 Bernese were presented at the show. Again Skumppa won the open class with CAC and this made him a Slovakian Champion only in one weekend! But this wasn’t everything… Skumppa also won Best Of Breed and was runner up for BISS after a Greater Swiss!

This year the World Dog Show 2009 was held in October in Slovakia. It was a long journey – over 1700km one way – but that didn’t stop family Kerman for travelling. The show had the biggest entry ever and Bernese were the fifth most popular breed of the whole show with 268 entries. Berner people seem to be crazy about dog shows almost everywhere :-)
It was nerve-wracking to stay at home and wait for the results and not knowing what was happening there… But then finally I received a phone call; Ch. Funatic Taittinger had won the open dog class and took CAC at the World Dog Show 2009 in Bratislava under Mrs. Lisbeth Mach! Last year he won the intermediate class at the WDS in Sweden and now the huge open class (39 entries). I’m so proud of you Skumppa, Kaisa and Rituli!!!

Our beloved Raisa, Ch. Arancha v. Rummelsbach celebrated her 8th birthday this Thursday. We are so happy to have her and I’m ever grateful to Jürgen for letting us have this special girl who has given us so much!
Below is Raisa (on the left) in August 2009 at the Finnish Specialty Show taking 2nd place in progeny group with her four daughters from three different litters: Ch. Bendoran Adele (BOS at the specialty -09) and Ch. Bendoran Ambrosia (both sired by Ch. BISS Riccarron Frog Prince), Funatic Riesling (sire by Ch. BISS Riccarron Nano Nano) and Ch. BISS Funatic Versace (sired by Ch. Isak)

Nemo & Sabine, Juusto & Natalia and Nanuq & Janne passed the BH trial today in Helsinki. The weather conditions were rather challenging… It was pouring rain more than enough as you can see from the photo.
