Weekend in Estonia and Latvia

* Monday, July 26th, 2010

A great weekend in Estonia and Latvia with Tanner and Senna! We had a hot and sunny weather but with coolers, cool towels and good sunscreens the conditions where pretty OK for the dogs. Well, I got sun burned…
On Saturday we participated the International Show in Pärnu. Tanner was 2nd best male with res.CACIB and Senna was 3rd best female. After the show we headed to Latvia and spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach close to Riga. Our hotel in Riga had a great location next to a big garden where the dogs could roam and play and it was also close to a big shopping center (YAY for me!) and the city center. On Sunday the breed ring started in the noon so we slept late and took a long morning walk in Riga and arrived Ogre just in time the ring started.
Tanner was best male with CAC and became a Latvian Champion and took BOB, too. Senna was EXC1 in Champion class but the judge didn’t prefer her white markings so that was it for her this time.
Tanner really shined in the group final! It is a real joy to show him as he is such a great performer especially in the groups. Tanner took 3rd in the group after a stunning Black Russian Terrier and a Dobermann.

If anyone knows who took pictures in the group finals please let me know! Would love to have that picture of Tanner and me :)

Weekend in Oulu

* Monday, July 12th, 2010

How about a relaxing weekend in northern Finland? I don’t know about the relaxation but I’m all for it if that means good times, good friends and terrific show results! It surely was worth the drive!

We had five Funatics in the ring during the weekend and they all did a super job!
Skumppa was the star of the weekend. He took CACIB & BOB both days and also placed in groups: G3 on Saturday and G2 on Sunday!! Great comeback to the rings after a short break! He is looking fabulous!
In the bitch classes we had Senna, Essi and Morris both days and Milla on Sunday. Senna won her class, took reserve CACIB and was 2nd best bitch on Saturday and her sister Essi won her class both days and placed BB#4 on Sunday. Morrison took VG on Saturday but on Sunday she hit the jackpot and took CAC, CACIB and BOS! This was second CAC within a week for Morris, and her first CACIB! Morrison’s sister Milla was also shown on Sunday and she took EXC. She has grown into such a lovely girl!
With Skumppa, Senna, Essi and Morrison Funatic also took BOB breeder on Sunday!

Thank you Eila for your hospitality! And special thank you to the little kennel girls who were so enthusiastic and helpful during the whole weekend :) Future junior handlers perhaps?

Juusto in action!

* Monday, July 12th, 2010

How does a Berner work in over +26 Celsius degrees and direct sunshine?
It can be a challenging… but Juusto handled it like a man!

In their first Open Class Obedience trial Ch. Funatic Roquefort and Natalia took AVO1 results with 172 points and 1st place in the class!

Big Congrats!!!

Elite A for Vintage

* Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

I just received some absolutely wonderful news from France!
Funatic Vintage has a new cotation. Now she has 6 points (elite A) which is the highest cotation a Berner can receive in France .
This means that she has 4 points (hips, elbows, character test, several Exc in dog shows after 15 months and Exc in National Specialty Show) and she has also produced 5 offspring with the cotation 3 or 4 points with two different males.

Vins offspring who currently have received 3 points or more:
Our Bollinger du Hameau des Baronnies is a Finnish Champion but results of exported dogs won’t count.

What makes this achievement even more special is that Vin seems to be the first Berner bitch in France to have this cotation!!!
Vintage and Joëlle, I’m very proud of you!
