Weekend in Oulu

How about a relaxing weekend in northern Finland? I don’t know about the relaxation but I’m all for it if that means good times, good friends and terrific show results! It surely was worth the drive!

We had five Funatics in the ring during the weekend and they all did a super job!
Skumppa was the star of the weekend. He took CACIB & BOB both days and also placed in groups: G3 on Saturday and G2 on Sunday!! Great comeback to the rings after a short break! He is looking fabulous!
In the bitch classes we had Senna, Essi and Morris both days and Milla on Sunday. Senna won her class, took reserve CACIB and was 2nd best bitch on Saturday and her sister Essi won her class both days and placed BB#4 on Sunday. Morrison took VG on Saturday but on Sunday she hit the jackpot and took CAC, CACIB and BOS! This was second CAC within a week for Morris, and her first CACIB! Morrison’s sister Milla was also shown on Sunday and she took EXC. She has grown into such a lovely girl!
With Skumppa, Senna, Essi and Morrison Funatic also took BOB breeder on Sunday!

Thank you Eila for your hospitality! And special thank you to the little kennel girls who were so enthusiastic and helpful during the whole weekend :) Future junior handlers perhaps?

Winner Shows in Helsinki

I’m always super excited about this last show weekend of the year in Finland as this is THE show weekend of the year where you can see some of the most stunning pure bred dogs in all breeds. …and you can do some serious shopping, too. Ask my friend Natalia ;-) This year we had the pleasure of having two title shows during one weekend; Finnish Winner Show on Saturday and Nordic Winner Show on Sunday.

Thank you Luisa, Senna, Ronja, Juusto, Skumppa for showing so well during the weekend!

Over two months have passed since I have been at any dog show. WOW! Must be some kind of a record for myself. It was fun to be in the ring with Senna again after a while. I guess she never has a dull moment – always such a happy gal that she is! Skumppa was also at the show looking good and trying to charm the ladies as always ;)
It was great to see some of our Cuba’s kids; Riccarron Quess Why won junior class and Valkeakoivun Emerentia took second place in intermediate class after Senna. Also a Skumppa daughter Fridkullas Xanadu was shown in intermediate class and she took 3rd place. Well done all!

Club Winner at the SKSSP Specialty

More great news from Slovakia!

The Slovakian Specialty for Swiss Mountain & Cattle Dogs was held the day after the WDS in hotel Kamila in Bratislava.
There was a nice entry of all four swiss breeds and 105 Bernese were presented at the show. Again Skumppa won the open class with CAC and this made him a Slovakian Champion only in one weekend! But this wasn’t everything… Skumppa also won Best Of Breed and was runner up for BISS after a Greater Swiss!

World Dog Show in Bratislava

This year the World Dog Show 2009 was held in October in Slovakia. It was a long journey – over 1700km one way – but that didn’t stop family Kerman for travelling. The show had the biggest entry ever and Bernese were the fifth most popular breed of the whole show with 268 entries. Berner people seem to be crazy about dog shows almost everywhere :-)

It was nerve-wracking to stay at home and wait for the results and not knowing what was happening there… But then finally I received a phone call; Ch. Funatic Taittinger had won the open dog class and took CAC at the World Dog Show 2009 in Bratislava under Mrs. Lisbeth Mach!  Last year he won the intermediate class at the WDS in Sweden and now the huge open class (39 entries). I’m so proud of you Skumppa, Kaisa and Rituli!!!

30.8.2009 Tervakoski INT

Skumppa and Geisha participated Tervakoski International Show the day after the specialty. Skumppa won Champion class and was 2nd best male with res.CACIB. His kids did also well in junior class: son Alpweiden Fine Design EXC1, BD#3 and daughter Alpweiden Forever Jackpot EXC3.

Congratulations also to Raili and wonderful Boyd daughter Liisu (Ridon Hennet Elisee) for winning CAC and BOS!

Skumppa and his offspring had a fine day at Iisalmi International.
Second show for Skumppa’s son Alpweiden Fine Design and his 2nd CAC and BD#2 placement! The daughter Alpweiden Forerver Jackpot made the day even better for breeder/owner Auli when she took the breed (BB#1 CAC BOB). Congrads Auli!
